Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2006 Kia Sportage 4 Cylinder
Question:
Ive been searching for a trailer harness to fit my 2006 kia sportage on place said the only harness that will work is#55529 plug in-my car being a 4cly 2.0 did not have that connector on it. Can you tell me what harness I need? I think any harness will work as long it has the wiring that says -white/ground -running lights/gr.-yellow/left turn sig.-gr.to yellow pass. side. can you advise me thank you.

The 4 cylinder models of the 2006 Kia Sportage require a hardwire trailer wiring harness. There are a few options available, see link, but I recommend Tow Ready harness # 119178KIT. This is a non-powered converter so you will not have to make a connection to the vehicle battery.
With this harness you would use the included circuit tester to verify the functions of the tail light wires on your Sportage. The harness uses the white wire for ground, red for brake lights, brown for running lights, yellow for left turn signal, and green for right turn signal.
