Recommended Class I Trailer Hitch for 2015 Toyota Prius for Use with UpUSA Bike Rack
Question:
I ordered a Curt hitch from you for my 2007 Prius. It was the only hitch option at that time. My 1UpUSA bicycle rack worked perfectly carrying one bicycle or, with the rack extension, two bicycles. I just got a 2015 Prius and obviously need a new hitch, but am hesitant to order as now there are choices. My boyfriend installed the previous hitch and will do so again, but the ordering decision is all mine. Im leaning towards the lighter Draw-Tite hitch. Would this work for me?

We do have several choices for you in a 1-1/4-inch light-duty Class I hitch for your 2015 Toyota Prius and you can view these using the link provided. Since your intended use is a hitch-mount bike rack I do recommend the Draw-Tite # 24847. I recommend this hitch not just for its lower 18-lb weight, but also because it does not require use of a stabilizing strap # 18050 like the Curt hitch # C11276 does.
I have linked for you (or perhaps more accurately for your helpful boyfriend!) the written instructions for the hitch, a step-by-step installation video as well as a helpful article on hitch installation. These resources will make it easy to install your hitch on your Prius so you can get to riding.
If your bike rack does not have a lock to secure it to your hitch and you'd like to add one you can use part # 5200. If you need a cable lock to secure the bike to the carrier you can use # e98891.
