How to Pick Out Replacement Suspension Components for a Trailer

Question:

I have a 2001 Taho fifth Wheel travel trailer and the leaf springs and connections are totally rusted out because we have it at the Gulf Coat close to the water. Do you have a replacement kit for it. Thanks. Regards

I tried looking up info for Tahoe trailers made in 2001 but since there were several different models made in that year of various sizes and weights I won't be able to give you a specific answer. I was able to determine that you do have a tandem axle setup on your trailer since all of the trailers they offer are tandem.

First you will want to pick out the correct leaf springs. To do that you will need to know the length of your leaf springs as well as the axle capacity. Try to measure the springs when they are unloaded and for the weight you should be able to find the axle capacities on the plate or sticker near the pin box of the trailer. The rest of the components for the trailer's suspension will get built around that.

I attached a page that has all of the leaf springs we carry. You will need to select the length and weight capacity you need from the filters and the correct springs will be listed.

A very common hanger kit is the part # APT3 which comes with everything to mount the springs.

To pick out the correct u-bolt kit will require you to know the diameter of the axles on your trailer. I attached a link to a page that has all of the kits we offer that would fit.
