Spare Tire Carrier Recommendation for Frame of Older Chevy Truck
Question:
Hi, I have an old 54 Chevy pickup that has a HORRIBLE spare tire mounting system. I have the size beams, for lack of the proper word that will fit this item. My question is, will it support a donut tire placed under the truckbed laying flat and not verticle like you would mount a tire on a trailer.

Sounds like you are looking for a spare tire carrier to install on your truck's frame that will carry the tire facing down. A U-bolt carrier like part # CE22007Z-11050-2 would be great if your frame was 3 inches wide or the part # CE22011Z-11050-2 for if your frame is 3-1/2 inches wide.
