Is A Taller 2 Inch Hitch Ball Available For A Class I Hitch

Question:

I found your part, #63802. It appears taller than a normal ball. How tall is it above the tongue. My hitch is a Class I and it is not a receiver hitch. I use 2 for everything so I do not need the interchangeable ball. Do you have any others similar in height?

I went out to our warehouse to measure the height of the Tow Ready Hitch Ball, # 63802, and found that it is 3-1/2 inches tall from the ball mount surface to the top of the ball. This hitch ball has a 1 inch shank diameter.

You need to measure the diameter of the shank hole for the hitch ball on your Class I hitch to see if it has a 1 inch or 3/4 inch diameter. Most of the Class I and Class II ball mounts have a 3/4 inch hole for the hitch ball.

If it has a 3/4 inch diameter, you could use the Curt # C40018. It is 3-1/2 inches tall and the shank has a 3/4 inch diameter X 2-1/4 inches long.

If the hole diameter is 1 inch then we do have a couple of other choices.

The taller hitch balls I have in a 2 inch size is the Curt Hitch Ball, # C40033, which has a 1 inch rise. The height of the ball from the ball mount surface to the top of the ball is 3-1/2 inches. The shank dimension is 1 inch diameter X 2-1/8 inches long.

I also have the Curt Hitch ball, # C40034, which is a 2 inch rise. The height of the ball from the ball mount surface is 4-1/2 inches with a shank dimension of 1 inch diameter X 2-1/8 inches long.
