Can Air Lift Air Bags be Installed on a 2008 Toyota Tundra with Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch

Question:

I have the Reese 16k 5th wheel hitch in my truck with the 6.5foot bed. I looked at the frame rails where the load lifter air bags would go, and it appears nothing from the Reese hitch would interfere, but I wanted your opinion too. Also, what is the part no. For the automatic air pump assembly for the load lifter 5000?

The 5th wheel installation kits for your 2008 Toyota Tundra have 4 brackets total instead of just 2 long brackets so the area where helper springs would mount is clear. This area does need to be clear so that the mounting brackets for helper springs can attach to the frame so you are good to go.

I have included a link that shows installation of the Air Lift system # AL88299 being installed and a link to the installation instructions for you.

For a compressor system you have some options. If you want both air bags filled with the same amount of air then you would use a single path kit such as # AL25592, which is the most basic option. If you want to be able to level the bed side to side (great for a truck that carriers many different loads) you would want a dual path, # AL25651. Either system kicks in automatically.
