Front Mount Hitch Availability for 2015 Jeep Wrangler for Making Hammock Hanger

Question:

I am working on a hammock stank that will allow me to hang my hammock over the roof of my Jeep. I would like to install this hitch and I will fabricate a long Linch shaped upright of 2inch square steel tubing. The height from the receiver would be about 8. I am not concerned about the ability of the rear hitch to support this weight but I am trying to get some feedback on whether or not the front mounted receiver would function in this capacity. I have seen numerous set up with a T bar installed to support multiple Kayaks and or canoes so I am encouraged. However, with use I have described the pressure will be puling back rather than downward as is with the Tinch bar. Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

The front hitch part # 31432 has been confirmed as a fit for your 2015 Jeep Wrangler and has a 350 lb vertical weight capacity. As long as the weight of the upright bar and people in the hammock weigh less than that you should be fine.
