Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500

do i have to take the truck after installing the electric brake assitance to be program

If your 2014 Dodge Ram does not have a factory brake controller installed in it currently then you would not have to take your truck to a Ram dealer to have it reprogrammed.

If your truck has an integrated brake controller from the factory then you would have to have it reprogrammed after removing it and installing an aftermarket controller. I attached a help article that has more details on this for you to check out.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. For an install harness you would want the part # 3023-P.
