What is the Wire Gauge on the 6-Pole Square Trailer Wiring Connector # 37995, for a 1993 Saturn SW2
Question:
Your 6 way square connector is described as having the pigtails only 18 gauge? 10 gauge is required as a minimum for the hot battery supply. can you confirm that all 6 pigtailed wires are only 18 gauge, and if so, do you have any advice on how to resolve this issue?

I went out to the warehouse and grabbed one of the 6-Pole Square Trailer Wiring Connectors, item # 37995, and all of the wires are the same 18 gauge wires. I agree with you that a larger wire would be the best way to go for installation of a power wire to a trailer. The 18 gauge wiring is used to match the trailer wiring these connectors are installed on.
I would change the trailer connector to match my vehicle by using a 6-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, item # 50-61-104, or a 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, 3 foot, item # H20042. This way you will have a much more standard trailer connector and the correct size wires to attach to the functions on your trailer.
If you need the 6-way or 7-Way wiring to upgrade or change the wiring on your 1993 Saturn SW2 then I would recommend using the # ETBC6 wiring kit or the # ETBC7 wiring kit to change the wiring out on the vehicle. We have detailed instructions that I have linked for these wiring kits.
