Crossbars for 2013 Mercedes Benz G-Class for OEM Roof Cargo Box

Question:

I have an oem Mercedes cargo box from an R350. The oem fittment is based on a screw that slides in a channel in an aero style roof rack bar. I am trying to fit to either a square Thule bar or a round Yakima bar. Do you have any options or ideas? Thank you

In order to get your cargo box to fit, I'd recommend going with Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars. The crossbars are elliptical which will be much more aerodynamic and will lead to much less turbulence and wind noise. The Vortex Aero crossbars have channels running across the top that would accommodate the bolts from your cargo box, as long as the heads of the bolts are between 7/16 and 7/8 of an inch in width.

For a 2013 Mercedes Benz G-Class, you'd need the following parts:

65 inch crossbars in silver as part # RRVA165S-2 or # RRVA165B-2 for black
Roof rack legs, part # RL150S13
Leg adapters, part # RRVA-FK1-2

There isn't an adapter available that would allow your roof box to work with Yakima round crossbars or Thule Square crossbars.
