Hitch and Extender Recommendation for a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for Carrying Bike Rack
Question:
Hello. I am purchasing a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and am planning to purchase from etrailer Curt hitch part# 9883554 and a hitch extender so that I can mount my Thule bike rack without removing the spare tire. For the extender I am looking at your part numbers C45791 or HE06. My questions for you are 1 is there any reason to go with one extender over the other, and 2 do you have a recommendation for a locking hitch pin that will keep the extender snug since it will be used with a bike rack and I don’t want to have a lot of play in the extender/rack? Thanks

The # 13432 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited so it would work well for you.
Either extender would work well for you as they both have the same capacity of 350 lbs tongue weight. Only difference is that the Curt # C45791 is 1 inch longer at 8 inches and the # HE06 is 7 inches long.
For an anti-rattle device the part # 63232 would work well.
You should note that hitch extenders like this reduce the capacity of the hitch they are installed in by 50 percent.
