Idea for Repositioning Fuse Holder for Curt Wiring Harness C56158 for Easier Access

Question:

Enjoyed watching the video on installing the Honda CR-V wiring harness Part #C56158, but I can see one problem with the design if there is a need to check or replace the rear fuse, you will have to remove everything again to get to it. My suggestion would be to run the fuse holder wiring down along with the trailer wires and stop it short of the spare tire well. Then if you need to access the fuse you can just lift the lip of the panel and pull out the fuse. Or possibly, put it behind the small panel where the rear seat lever is located. Either place would allow easier access to the fuse. Just a suggestion. Anyway when Im ready to haul around something besides my bike carrier, Ill be coming to you guys for the wiring harness. :-

That's a fantastic idea! You would need to cut the wire on either side of the fuse holder and wire in enough wire to either side of it so that you could reposition it wherever you felt would be the most convenient.

We sell 12 gauge wire by the foot, part # 12-1-1.
