Recommended Trailer Hitch, Trailer Wiring, And Bike Rack For 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

Hello, We are shopping for a complete trailer hitch for the following vehicule - to be used for towing a small trailer and attache a bike rack. DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2010 I would need cost for all parts needed. Thanks!

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2010 Grand Caravan is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch, part # 75579. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening.

We also carry the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13364. Per Curt, all non-trailer loads such as bike racks, and cargo carriers must be supported by stabilizing straps, like part # 18050, or the warranty is voided by Curt. The Hidden Hitch does not have that requirement and that is the reason I recommend the Hidden Hitch.

Since you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If you do not have trailer wiring I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part # 118552. This simply plugs into the connection points located behind the tail lights and after running a hot lead to the car battery will give you a 4-way connector at the rear of your Grand Caravan.

When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.

If you do not have a bike rack for the hitch I recommend the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack, part # S63360. This is a 2-bike rack with a weight capacity of 35 lbs per bike. This carrier tilts when empty to allow rear cargo access.

If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance.
