Availability of Replacement Trailer Wiring for Car Hauler

Question:

I need to replace the entire wiring harness for a car hauler trailer that suffered a fire, so I need a harness that supports trailer brakes, side marker lights, etc. and has a 7-pin or 6 pin connector. Do you sell such a harness or know where I can get one? Thanks

We don't offer a once piece harness, but I can recommend what you'd need to wire your trailer.

I'd recommend using a 7-way connector, like # H20046. Keep in mind that the connector uses a different wire color code than usual. You'll find the color code on the product page I've linked for you. I'd then recommend you terminate the wiring from the connector in a junction box like part # 38656. Using a junction box makes for a neat and weatherproof installation. Use bonded 3 wire, part # 16-3B-1 which is sold by the foot to run you lighting circuits. For the brake circuits, use # 10-1-1 which is also sold by the foot.

You'll also need some ring terminals to make the connections in the junction box. At a minimum, you'd need:

4) for 10-12 gauge wire, part # 44-5310A
4) for 14 gauge, part # DW05702-1
3) for 18 gauge, part # DW05721-1

I've linked you to a video showing how the junction box is installed.
