Recommended Parts to Convert 2015 Ford Escape to 7-Way Trailer Connector for Brake Controller Use
Question:
I have a 2015 Ford Escape with the #2 Towing package. 2inch receiver hitch and 4 prong electrical. I want to upgrade to 7 prong and have it hidden or nicely mounted OEM Style. The 7 prong is to pull a pop-up that has electric trailer brakes, 1640 pound unit. I think I would rather install this myself so the wire connections are properly routed, heat shrinked, and protected. Which product do I need to make this upgrade, and is it fairly simple to install? Thank you for your help.

To convert your 2015 Escape's factory 4-pole to a 7-way for use with a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 you will use our installation kit # ETBC7. The kit includes the 7-way, wiring, connectors, circuit breakers - everything you need to install a brake controller and have 12V power at the 7-way. I have linked an article and video illustrating installation.
You may want to also use the do-drill bracket # C57202, which mounts to the hitch tube with its included ring clamp. The 7-pole bracket included in the # ETBC7 kit will mount to this without need to drill into the vehicle.
I recommend the Prodigy P2 # 90885 since this controller is among the simplest to set up and use. It is very highly rated by our customers who own it. It is also shown in the linked video.
