Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a P30 Service Body Truck

Question:

I have 1996 Grumman-Olsen Stepvan based on a 4.3L 6cyl. Chev P30 Chassis. Original GVWR was 6500lb., but the original interior service orientated has been removed, including a generator, large work table, and elaborate drawer/shelving system greatly reducing the overall weight of the vehicle. The total weight of the vehicle is now approximately 5000lb. or less. I am considering towing the vehicle and wondering what type system you would suggest.

I spoke to my contacts at Curt and Reese and the only styles of hitches that can be made to fit a service body truck like yours are multi-fit hitches like the # 41990 that has a 16k capacity. This is a weld on hitch that would require either the 7 inch drop brackets part # 4907 or the 16 inch brackets part # 4916.
