Adding 7-Way Trailer Connector/Brake Controller to Motorhome Equipped with 4-Pole Round Connector
Question:
Hi, I need to adapt a round 4 pin connector female with round pins on a Motorhome to 7 pin connector so I can hook up a tow dolly with brakes. Do you have anything that will work? Thanks.

I'd recommend you use our Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7, The kit includes a 4-pole to 7-way adapter. If you no longer need the 4 pole round connector, you can simply remove it, and wire it directly to the 4-pole provided by the adapter after you cut the connector off.
The kit also includes all the hardware and circuit breakers you'll need to complete the installation. 25 feet of wire is included, but you'll need additional # 10-2-1 wire due to the length of your motorhome.
Once the adapter included in the kit is in place and connected to the existing lighting circuits that were provided by the existing 4-pole, you'll have 4 wires remaining to contend with. The Blue wire would run to the front of the vehicle, ultimately connecting to the blue brake output wire from the brake controller. The black wire would run to the positive battery terminal on the motorhome, providing auxiliary power to the tow dolly if needed. The white wire would ground to the motorhome and the purple wire, which is usually used for reverse lamps could be bundled up out of the way if not needed. If needed, it would tap into the reverse lamp circuit on the motorhome.
If you haven't already chosen a brake controller, I'd recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is easy to use, and is very highly rated by our customers.
I've linked you to some FAQ articles that will help walk you through the installation.
