Information Needed to Choose Correct Replacement Trailer Axle
Question:
I have a 20foot enclosed trailer that needs an axle. I have looked online at different axle but I am afraid I will choose the wrong one. What information do you need from me to ensure I get the correct axle.

In order to determine the correct replacement axle, I'll need the following information:
-Inner and outer wheel bearing reference numbers or diameter of spindle where bearings ride. This measurement needs to be accurate to three decimal places, so using a digital caliper is the recommended way to measure. A ruler or measuring tape would be nowhere near accurate enough.
-Wheel bolt pattern (see linked FAQ article)
-Axle capacity
-Hub face to hub face distance
-Spring center to spring center dimension
(I've provided a diagram showing how to measure this.)
