The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, # F2550, Quit Working On 2003 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty
Question:
I have power to my gauge but the lift quit working about a week ago. I dont know what could be wrong with it and I DO NOT want to go to the dealership to have it checked? I will have my son check the fuse box, but my gut tells me, there is something else going on. Just had the front brakes worked on, dont think that would have any effect on the unit, unless the mechanic disconnected a harness by mistake? Thank you and wow, what a great site. I am sending a link to all my equestrian friends who tow all the time and someone always needs to upgrade or get something repaired.

You should use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, and test the wiring to the compressor to make sure it is getting power and working properly.
If the compressor is working, then I would check the air springs on your 2003 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty to make sure they are not damaged.
When you had the front brakes worked on, if the mechanic lifted your truck by the frame and did not deflate both air springs completely, that could have overextended the air springs. If the air springs were overextended that would have damaged them.
You will also want to check all the fitting connections to make sure that no air is leaking from the air springs. The air springs do need to have a minimum of 5 psi in them at all times to prevent damage to them.
If you have the Firestone air springs, # F2550, and they are damaged, we do sell just the springs. It is the Firestone Standard Air Spring, # F6401, which is one spring.
