Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2015 Chevy Impala LTZ
Question:
I have a 2015 Cheverolet Impala 2LTZ, and I am looking for an appropriate hitch to install. It appears that the Curt, Item C12115, and the Hidden Hitch, Item #90242 install about the same, with the only difference being the hardware used to install the rear section of the hitch to the exhaust. Is that the case? Are there any other signifigant differences in quality or ashtetics that make one better than the other? Second question, I have a 2LTZ, as mentioned above. The demo car you used for both installs appears to be a 1LT. They have different rear bumpers, where the LTZ has holesinch in the fascia for the exhaust rather than just hiding it and angling it down. Have you or the manufactures tested either of these kits with an LTZ to ensure that it will install without issue. I understand that I may have to trim the non-visible portio of the fascia, but Im more concerned with the hitch actually fitting.

Your assessment of the trailer hitches for the 2015 Chevy Impala LTZ are correct. Curt trailer hitch # C12115, Draw-Tite hitch # 36538, and Hidden Hitch # 90242 (no longer available) all install in a similar fashion at the same places. the Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch models even share the same instructions.
Quality wise all of the hitches meet or exceed industry standards. Some people tend to like the finish on the Curt hitches better.
All three of these hitches fit both LT and LTZ models so no worries. there are no special steps or instructions to follow for the LTZ.
If you are planning on using the hitch for towing then I recommend Draw-Tite # 36538. You will need ball mount part # 36061. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring use # 118590. If you will be using the hitch for accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier it does not require a stabilization strap like the Curt hitch does.
