Recommended Brake Controller and Trailer Wiring for 2009 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I have a 2009 RAV4 without any trailer wiring. I need to install a brake controller. I was planning to use T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness #118412, which I already own but have not installed, and Universal Kit for Trailer Brake Controller ETBC7 as well as the brake controller itself, of course. Is there a single kit that combines #118412 and ETBC7?

There is no one kit that includes the 4-pole harness you need along with the other brake controller installation parts but you have done a fine job of identifying the components you need. I would usually recommend the Curt harness # C56165 over the Tow Ready - its the same price and same install - because of its higher current output capacity. But if you already have it then it should work fine as long as your trailer lights do not demand more current than it can provide. An install video and article are linked to help you with the 4-pole harness install.
You will also use our # ETBC7 brake controller installation kit as you noted. This includes everything you need to complete installation of a trailer brake controller like the popular and reliable Prodigy P2 # 90885. The P2 is among the finest such products available and includes user-friendly features like auto-leveling and built-in diagnostics. An install video is linked.
