Can a Curt Q24 5th Wheel Slider Hitch be Installed in a 2015 Ram 3500 Long Bed w/Prep Package

Question:

I would like to install the curt Q24 slider in a 2015 dodge 3500 long bed. I would like to know if it will fit the dodge factory prep? I see it is listed for the short bed but when I put it long bed it doesnt come up as an option.

Slider hitches do not come up in the fit guide for long bed trucks because a slider hitch is not needed on a long bed. Slider hitches are used on short bed trucks because without them there is not enough clearance between the truck cab and the trailer to make tight turns. But there is clearance on a long bed so no slider is needed.

For a 2015 Ram 3500 long bed with the factory prep package you would use Curt Q24 hitch # C16545-16021. If you wanted to use the slider version you would have to use adapter # C16022 and then hitch # C16546.
