Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2015 VW Jetta TDI

Question:

I am looking to add a hitch for my 2015 Jetta TDI in order to add a cargo basket and alternately, bike rack. Your ion tool indicates 2 possible choices, but some QandA indicates that nothing has been confirmed for the TDI. Please advise.

Curt Manufacturing has determined that their Class I hitch, part # C11410 is a confirmed fit for the 2015 Jetta TDI, unless it's the Hybrid model.

For a cargo carrier, I'd recommend the Curt # C18110. The carrier measures 20 x 48 inches, outside dimension and offers plenty of room for gear. Because of the limited 200 lb tongue weight capacity of the Class I hitch, you'll be limited to carrying two bikes. One of my favorite bike racks is the Kuat Beta, part # B202-114. The rack is rugged but incredibly light, at about 12-1/2 lbs.

The Curt Class I hitch you referred to, part # C11072 isn't compatible with the TDI model.
