Will Thule Transporter Fit On 2010 Toyota RAV4 With Spare Tire On Rear Door
Question:
Would this unit work with a Toyota 2010 RAV4. The reason I ask is the Toyota RAV4 has a tire mounted on rear door and door also opens by swinging to the right vice normal lift up opening on most SUVs. Thanks for your assistance.

To know if the Thule Transporter Cargo Carrier, # TH665C, will work on your 2010 Toyota RAV4 you will need to check your owners manual or the car dealer to find out what class of hitch you have and what the weight capacity is on the hitch and on your vehicle.
The Thule Cargo Carrier only works on a 1-1/4 Inch Class II or 2 inch Class III trailer hitch. If you have the Class II or Class III hitch with the right capacity on your Toyota, then you can take some measurements to see if it will clear the spare tire on the rear door.
The Carrier measures 7-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the carrier. On your 2010 Toyota RAV4 with the spare tire on the back door, you will need to measure from the center of your hitch pin hole back to the furthest point on the rear of the vehicle, which will be the back of the spare tire. That measurement will tell you if the cargo carrier will work. If it measures less than 7-1/2 inches the carrier would fit on your vehicle.
You will not be able to fully open the rear swinging door with the carrier mounted.
