What Reese Fifth Wheel Hitches will Install to the Factory Rails and Pucks on a 2011 Ford SuperDuty
Question:
what is the adapter kit and why do you need it if the ford 5th prep pkg is already installed and ford dealers tell me that all you have to do is the hitch in and is the 24k signature hitch completely assembled if i purchase it from your company

The 2011 Ford SuperDuty in bed system is the Elite rails and pucks. The attachment point between the pucks and the fifth wheel hitch is a bit different between the Elite Series and the Signature Series.
Basically, Elite pucks will accept the Elite head with no adapter needed. If you already have a Signature Series head, you will need adapter kit, part # RP58419, to get it to fit into the Elite pucks on the 2011 Ford SuperDuties.
To sum up, with the Elite rails and pucks in a 2011 SuperDuty, you can drop the Reese M5 series hitch, part # RP30922 straight in with no adapters. You can also use the Reese Signature, part # 40259 along with adapter kit RP58419.
