How to Determine What Size Grease Cap is Needed

Question:

Im having trouble finding a wheel bearing cap to fit my trailer. The inner diameter appears to be exactly 2. Ive purchased 1.98 and it was too small and the 2.3 was too large, any ideas?

If you can provide the reference number for the OUTER wheel bearing, I can determine which replacement grease cap you actually need. You can also use a digital caliper to find the exact inside diameter of the hub bore.

With a standard grease cap, the next larger size from the 1.98 inch is a 2.25 inch, which is quite a bit larger. If you're speaking of a bearing protector like the Bearing Buddy, the next largest size from the 1.98 is the 2.047 inch.
