Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD

Question:

i own a 2013 Silverado 2500HD I did some research on this it said she it can tow 17,500 lbs does this includes braking safely on down grade roads as well ???

The towing capacity for a vehicle does include braking, BUT you will need a brake controller so that you can stop effectively with a trailer that heavy.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.

No plug is present under the dash, but the needed wires are already run. You will connect the brake controller wiring with the vehicle wiring already present under the dash. I attached an install video and help article that covers how to do this.
