Recommended Dexter Electric Brakes to Fit in Place of Hayes Parts on Carson Car Hauler Trailer

Question:

I have a car haling trailer made by Carson trailers around 2000 or 2001,I dont know for sure but I think that the axles are 3500 lbs and the brakes are Hays ? Drums still look good. Will the Dexter Assembly #23-26 and #23-27 10 x 2 1/4 work for me with the existing Hays I think drums ? Included pic of existing drums. Thanks

Thank you for the photo of your trailer's electric 10 x 2-1/4-inch drum brake assembly. This brake has a 4-bolt mounting pattern just like the Dexter # 23-26 and # 23-27 replacement brake assemblies you referenced. These brakes will work fine with your existing 10 x 2-1/4-inch hub/drums.

This set of brakes is indeed rated for 3500-lb axles and you'll want to try to find a plate or sticker on the axles that confirms their weight rating. This 10 x 2-1/4 inch size electric brake is available in axle ratings of 3500-lbs, 4400-lbs and 8800-lbs and both manual adjust and self-adjust types as shown on the linked page.
