Question:

I have a 2004 2500 hd chevy and the above mentioned adapter I noticed that one a rough road the truck jerks do I need the offset ? or can I take the offset out and just use it as a straight goose neck? also can the one I have already be used as a straight goose neck? how else would I get more weight over the axle thank you

Rough roads and fifth wheel/gooseneck trailers will typically create some added roughness felt through the hitch. The offset adapter part # CAB-C5GX1216 that you referenced is mainly designed to give a bit more clearance for a short bed truck. If you have a long bed truck you could use the non-offset version part # CAB-C5G but you should note that it would not make for a smoother ride or add weight to the axle of the vehicle.

The same amount of pin weight gets transferred through the # CAB-C5GX1216 as the # CAB-C5G.
