Hitch and Swing Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2011 Chevy Equinox
Question:
Hello I recently purchased a Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch from etrailer.com for a 2011 Chevy Equinox. I installed it a few days ago and now would like to buy a 4 place bike rack. I was thinking about a 8002465 Yakima FullSwing 4-Bike Rack. When I enter my vehicle information I dont see this rack as available for my vehicle. Do you know if there are clearance limitations for my vehicle setup and this rack? Thanks for your time

The Yakima FullSwing 4 bike rack # Y02465 would fit the 2 inch hitch part # 13591 you installed and would work great for you.
When we installed the Curt hitch you have on a 2011 Chevy Equinox we found that it had a distance of 5 inches from the center of the pin hole to the outside of the bumper, the FullSwing has a distance of 6-1/2 inches from it's pin hole to the nearest part of the rack so it would fit well.
If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Swagman Easy-Out Women's and Alternative Frame Bike Adapter # 64005 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
