How Many Friction Sway Control Bars are Needed for an 8,750 Pound Trailer and 2014 Ford F-150
Question:
I currently have the Proseries WD with FSC for 10,000/1,000. I am towing an 8750# 32foot travel trailer after loading. After adjusting it a few times along with the Firestone Ride Rite Airbags on the F150 it is riding pretty darn good at highway speeds. Just wondering if it would be better/safer to have an additional FSC on the other side for greater stability?

Helpful Expert Reply:
One friction-style sway control unit, such as # 83660, can be used for trailers weighing up to 6,000 pounds. But since your trailer weighs 8,750 pounds you will need two sway-control units, one on each side of the trailer. You will also want to use two units if your trailer is 26 feet or longer.
Since you have the Pro Series weight distribution system, you will not need to add anything else other than # 83660 since the Pro Series head unit comes with holes to mount 2 friction sway control units.
