Factory 7-Way Trailer Connector Does Not Come Apart to Install Hopkins Back Up Camera

Question:

My 2007 Toyota tundra with factory towing package doesnt seem to have a simple disconnect of the 7 pin as compared to other vehicles shown in your install videos. Am I doing something wrong, or are Toyotas different in this respect? Thank you.

Actually I have heard of this before. On some Toyota Tundras that have the factory 7-Way there is no way to take apart the 7-Way in a manner that would allow you to plug in backup camera # HM50002. In that scenario you would have to hardwire in the camera to the tow package wiring.

You will need to use a circuit tester such as # 40376 to test the tow package wires to determine their functions. I have included a link to a video that should help.
