Weight Distribution Recommendation for Jayco 28BHS with 2011 Ford F250
Question:
I recently purchased a Jayco 28bhs travel trailer and pull with a 2011 Ford F250. The tt came with a Reese WDH, 800 lb trunion bars with indentation at end and one friction sway device. I am considering upgrading to the dual cam device for sway control. Is this something that will work with my tt, tow vehicle and current Reese equipment? Is installation something I could do or should I hire someone to do the install

Based on my research a Jayco 28BHS has a tongue weight around 750 lbs. so your current system is the right system. If you have the trailer loaded correctly (meaning 10 to 15 percent of the trailer GVW is on the tongue) and are still experiencing sway I would recommend the dual-cam sway control # RP26002. This system prevents sway before it starts.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.
