Testing Brake Controller that is Sending Power on Output Circuit but No Light Is on Display

Question:

i have a 1979 ford f100 i instaled voyager 9030 the light did not do anything so i checked to see if i had power coming out of it with brake on i check the blue wire witn light tester and the little light turned green why

Have you tried connecting to a trailer yet? It sounds like your controller is installed correctly but since it does not detect a trailer it doesn't work until you put a circuit tester on the brake output circuit of the truck. This is normal.

If the controller still doesn't work the problem would most likely be a short on the brake output circuit somewhere between the trailer 7-way and the assemblies.
