We first need to determine if the issue is with the vehicle or the trailer. I would begin by testing the trailer connector on the vehicle. Turn the headlights on and use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the socket on the connector fed by the brown wire. If you have signal on the running light circuit, we can move on to the trailer. If not, you may have a blown fuse.
On the trailer I would start off by checking the connector to make sure that it is clean and free of corrosion inside and out.
Next you will want to make sure that the ground wire from the connector is securely grounded to the trailer frame and that each lamp is grounded to the trailer frame either by an individual ground wire connected to the trailer frame or by its mounting studs being in metal-to-metal contact with the trailer frame.
After completing these steps, if you still do not have functioning running lights on your trailer, please send me an email and we can go further with the troubleshooting process. I have also included a couple articles which will give you some helpful tips as well.
