Troubleshooting Tekonsha Brake Controller with 4 Volts at Connector  

Question:

Tekonsha Brake Controller Code # 90195 03 Chev Trailblazer Trailer 6x12 enclosed With power set on 14, My voltage at trailer plug is 4.25 Should it be higher? At the 14 power setting trailer brakes will not lock up, Also when I wiggle plug, Warning no trailer brakes comes up, Do I have an issue with Trailer plug or vehicle receptacle?

I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he said you want Nothing less than 10 volts at the wheels of trailer. If you are only getting 4 volts from the controller back to the trailer connector then more than likely you have a problem with your wiring. What I would do is inspect both trailer connectors inside and out, looking for corrosion, bent pins, or exposed wire that could cause a short and fix as necessary.
