Fifth Wheel Hitch Towing Recommendation for a 2015 Toyota Tundra 5-1/2 foot Bed
Question:
Can you recommend a set up for a fifth wheel trailer with dry weight of 8800lbs? Also, is a gooseneck conversion a possibility with this setup?

Since you have a 5-1/2 foot bed truck the first thing we need to talk about is the Sidewinder pin boxes.
You will need to remove the pin box of the trailer and replace it with a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.
There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.
Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
For a fifth wheel rail install kit so that you can install the fifth wheel hitch in the bed of your truck you would want the Reese kit part # RP30035-309.
For a hitch you would want the Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch part # RP30047 as it has a dual jaw that will provide excellent king pin contact and because it is a 16k hitch that has more than enough capacity for your trailer.
