Installing Trailer Hitch On 2015 Honda Odyssey
Question:
A friend of mine has a 2015 Honda Odyssey and purchased this Draw Tite 75270 hitch. The 2 bolt holes towards the rear align perfectly bit the far one at the front does not align with the welded not in the frame. The description says this hitch is for 2005-2015, so why dont all the holes align? Id like to find out more before making this purchase. Thanks,

For the 2015 Odyssey, the Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 75270 holes used for installation should align up just right. I spoke with our installers and they said occasionally a trailer hitch will have the brackets with the mounting holes a little off and they will just gently move it back into place. They did say that the most important thing to remember is to only tighten the bolts about half way so that there is some play in the hitch when installing. I have attached a link to an installation video for this hitch you can check out.
If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If you need trailer wiring I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part # 118521. I have attached a link to an install video for this harness.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
I have also attached a couple links to some of the items we offer that will work with the hitch. If there are any questions you have about any of the items let me know and I will be glad to make some recommendations that will work for you.
