How Well Do Retractable Ratchet Straps Hold Up After Repeated Use in and around Salt Water

how do they hold up after being repeatedly submerged in salt water. which ones should i get for a 3000 lb boat I assume stainless steel

Like anything that sees a lot of activity in a salt water environment you would want to rinse the CargoBuckle straps # IMF18800 with fresh water afterwards to prolong the life of the straps. Also letting the straps dry prior to retracting them will make the ratcheting in/pulling the line out work better and last longer then trying to do so when wet. This is true for any ratchet strap. This little bit of maintenance will help to reach the maximum lifespan of a strap.

Stainless steel is going to be the best for salt water applications, just like you said. Zinc coated steel that has a high salt spray rating such as # EM34416 would also be a good option. I have included a link to all of the retractable ratchet strap options we carry.
