Can Grommet Hole Be Drilled Larger on 2015 Chevrolet Cruze to Route 4-Way Connector Under Vehicle
Question:
i purchased hitch and the 4 pole wiring harness for my 2015 chevy cruze. I was wondering if the connector has to stay stored in the vehicle or can i drill the grommet a bit larger to fit the connector and zip tie it under the vehicle for a cleaner look.

I want to start by thanking you again for ordering with etrailer.com. We appreciate your business.
As for the 4-way connector on your 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, as long as there is nothing around the grommet that would prevent you from drilling the hole larger, the 4-way can be routed to the underneath of the vehicle for a cleaner look. We do offer no-drill mounting brackets, # 18140 for short and # C57202 for long, which are used with 4-way mounting bracket, # 18144, to secure your connector.
Since you plan on drilling a larger hole in the grommet, I do recommend that once the wires have been routed that you seal the hole to ensure that water is not able to get into your vehicle.
