Should Rust Be Removed from a Roadmaster High Low Adapter After Sitting Out During Winter
Question:
I left this adapter on the back of my vehicle all winter long and only removed it just this past week. Can you tell me the best product/method to help remove the rust? Should I consider repainting it?

Sanding and repainting your Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter # RM-048-6 would be a great way to prolong the life of it. There is a product called CLR (Calcium, Lime and Rust) Remover that would make quick work of the rust as well. I used it on an old guitar that had a lot of rust on it and it removed the rust very quickly and easily.
I would go with a rust inhibiting primer and paint as well. Rustoleum should work well.
