Hopkins Back Up Camera Red and Green Warning Lines Sometimes Do Not Show Up on Display

Question:

This is a great product. Installed on my 2008 Toyota Tacoma really easily. Had to splice into back up wire on the 7 pin connector as the 7 pin connector is one solid piece. No big deal was really easy. The one question I have is that sometimes in everyday mode I only get the yellow back up line and not the yellow, green and red when I put vehicle in reverse. Doesnt happen all the time. Any ideas? Thanks

Those yellow, green, and red lines on the display for the Hopkins Back Up Camera # HM50002 are part of the limited programming of the system so if they are not showing up it is an internal issue and the unit would have to be replaced.

You mentioned that the green and red do not show up sometimes. Have you noticed by chance that during those times you were wearing sunglasses? As weird as it might sound certain tint, and I would imagine light refraction, can cause something like this to happen but only for certain colors in the spectrum.
