Should Auxiliary Circuit on 2005 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Be Hot Even w/ Key in Off Position
Question:
I was told that the suburban shut off the power to the auxiliary power when the key is off. I have a new trailer and now it seems the auxiliary is always hot, key on or not. Is this correct?

Even if the key in your 2005 Chevrolet Suburban is in the off position, the auxiliary circuit will still have power.
If you are concerned about the trailer drawing power while the Suburban isn't running, I recommend unplugging the trailer. Another option would be to install an isolation solenoid like part # PK5231201 on the power wire for your 7-way connector. Once connected to an ignition switched power source, the auxiliary circuit would only be hot when your key is in the on position.
