Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in a 2008 Kia Sedona

Question:

I have a 2003 Skamper Sport pop up model 1002 that we want to tow with our 2008 Kia Sedona. I believe well need a new axle with brakes, as I do not think the current axle has the 4 hole flange. Could you recommend an axle for this pop up? We will also need a brake controller for the Kia, the installation kit, and any other incidental requirements. It has a 3500 lb hitch and 4 pin wiring installed. Any recommendations you have for the pop up and the van would be appreciated,

I can help you with the brake controller for your 2008 Kia Sedona, but since we have a pretty limited selection of axles at this time your best option is going to be to find a shop local to you that can order you in the exact size brake axle you would need. You are going to need to know your current axles hub face to hub face dimension, the distance between the spring seats on center, and the capacity needed.

Since you already have a 4-way at the rear of your vehicle all you would need for a brake controller install is the part # ETBC7. This comes with everything needed to convert the 4-way to a 7-way and install the brake controller.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.

For a 7-way for your trailer you would want the part # H20043 and the junction box # 38656 to make installation easy.
