Can Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack # RA-28 Fit on Utility Trailer with Wooden Sides

Question:

I am interested in the Rackem Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Racks. I have a 4 foot wide utility trailter with wooden sides. I would like to attached the Rackem Fiitz-A racks to the wooden sides of my trailer to carry paddleboards. From the picture it looks like the plate for attaching to trailers is flat, but then it says have to have a gutter so I am not sure it will work? Thank you

The Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack, # RA-28, was designed to be used on enclosed trailers which have rain gutters. With rain gutters you have a steel header in which you will mount to. This provided the reinforcement needed to support the rack.

When it comes to using the rack on a 4 foot wide utility trailer with wooden sides, the mounting plates are indeed flat so I do not see any reason that the rack would not physically fit. Please keep in mind that since you will be using an alternate mounting application, you will need to make sure that the wooden sides are sturdy enough to support the weight that you will be carrying.
