Supplemental Braking Recommendation for a 2013 Honda CR-V
Question:
I have to install an auxiliary braking unit in my 2013 Honda Cr-v. I am looking at the Roadmaster invisiBrake. I often use my RV for several days towing without extensive use of the towed vehicle other than the required run the engine for 5 minutes every 8 hours that Honda requires. I want to make sure that the cr-v battery does not run down. Can I connect a hot lead to the brake controller rather than the taillights. The taillights are not on when I am driving.

I attached an install video for the Roadmaster InvisiBrake part # RM-8700 that shows it being installed on a 2013 Honda CR-V just like yours. This will cover exactly how to install this product in your vehicle.
To power this unit you will need to run the power wire up to the positive post of the vehicle battery. I can't recommend you power it with the brake controller wiring of your vehicle.
For a much less invasive braking unit you would instead want the Patriot part # BLU37TR. This product will install MUCH easier than this one, but will require you to remove the unit every time you go to drive it. Since your vehicle battery will need to get disconnected you will also need the part # RM-9332.
