Best Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Honda Fit for Bike Rack
Question:
How come the Curt hitch requires an extra strap for bike racks as opposed to the Draw Tite hitch when installing a bike rack for a 2015 Honda Fit?

Expert Reply:
Curt recommends the stabilizer strap with non-supported loads like bike racks to help support the hitch when going over bumps to prevent some of the vertical shock from being transferred to the hitch.
Curt does this as a precaution, it's not that Draw Tite or Hidden Hitch are stronger. Both hitch brands make outstanding hitches that are typically stronger than what they are rated for. I would say that Curt just happens to approach the idea of a bike rack/cargo carrier being used in a lower capacity hitch a bit more cautiously.
If you don't use a strap like the part # 18050 with a Curt hitch the warranty will be voided. I attached a review video that shows how to use the strap.
For your 2015 Honda Fit I would go with the Draw Tite hitch part # 24920 as it won't require the strap.
The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670. This rack has a ton of positive reviews from our customers who have tried it. Check out the review video I attached for more info.
