High Capacity Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2006 Chevy Silverado 3500 Long Bed

Question:

Hello, I have a 2006 Silverado 3500 Dually, Crew Cab, Long Bed, Duramax, Classic Body Style. Nice Michelin 8 ply tires. I have slightly oversized tires on the STOCK suspension. No lifts. Just a tire thats one size up or perhaps a bit more. We have managed to get a larger, matching spare in the stock spare tire area with the stock 3500 rear receiver hitch. The truck also has fifth wheel rails installed between the wheel wells. This addition does not seem to affect the spare tire very much. Can I use the Torklight SuperHitch Magnum 30K in my Silverado with a slightly oversized tire? If I get the hitch and I cannot fit it, can I return it? I need to buy a new hitch right away to pull a very heavy Dump Trailer. Ill be hauling gravel about 600 yards with multiple trips, over a 50 mile round trip, out and back. My truck is up for it, so is my trailer, but my factory hitch is not. Please help!

The TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch # TLC1205-30 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle so it would be a great choice as it has a ton of capacity like you said you needed.

Maximum gross trailer weight: 20,000 lb
Maximum GTW when used with weight distribution: 30,000 lbs

Maximum tongue weight: 2,500 lbs
Maximum TW when used with weight distribution: 3,000 lbs

It has only been tested on trucks with the stock sized spare so it would be hard to say for certain if your larger spare would fit. A lot of that would depend on how much taller and wider your current spare is than stock. You may find that your current spare is too tall.
