Concerns about Length of Shank of Ultra-Fab Motorcycle Carrier on 2001 35 Winnebago Adventurer
Question:
Does this carrier have adjustment holes on the carrier tube to bring the platform closer in to the motorhome since no spare or obstruction on rear of motorhome? I would think the entire assembly with bike on it would be more stable if length going into receiver is shorter. I was looking at a Moto Tote mx3 that has this adjustment, but it does cost more and not sure if that adjustment really has a benefit or not or if that rack offers any other benefit with the price difference.

The Ultra-Fab Motorcycle Carrier # UF48-979033, has one hitch pin hole, which is 16 inches to the closest edge of the carrier. This may seem far from the motorhome, but not to worry, the The Ultra-Fab carrier has been constructed, tested, and rated to carry up to 500 lbs at that distance behind a motorhome. This is the only motorcycle carrier we carry that is properly rated to be used on the rear of a motorhome.
I'd also recommend the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch, part # RM-061, that will help keep the shank of the carrier tightly held in the receiver tube. The Ultra-Fab carrier weighs about 50 lbs, so the combined weight of the carrier and your Yamaha will be well below the capacity of the hitch. You'll also need some tie downs, like part # 317-412080.
