Recommended 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Ford F-250 Crew Cab with an 8 Foot Bed
Question:
06 f250 crew cab long bed. I have found the 5th wheel with model 30032,30038,and 30072. Will it bolt directly to my truck or do I need other products. It is just the hitch.

You can use part number 30032 (15K fifth wheel hitch) as long as you have the base rails like the Reese custom base rail kit # RP50082-58. This fifth wheel hitch is now obsolete but if you happened to locate one you can still use it with this setup. You will also want to get a fifth wheel/gooseneck wiring harness with 7-pole plug # 50-97-410 for the back of your truck.
The part number 30038 (15K head), and 30072 (18K Signature with slider) you referenced are also obsolete and are not available anymore. You could use the signature series hitch but you will want to install the Reese Elite Series underbed install kit # RP30073 and use the Signature Series adapter # RP58419. This can be more costly but it will allow you to use the Reese Signature Series hitch.
The fifth wheel hitch I recommend is the M5 Series # RP30928 because of the single-jaw design. The secure connection will provide a great ride with minimal jarring and chucking. This fifth wheel hitch will work with the above bed base rails.
I included a couple installation videos and informative article for you too.
